How Charitable is Your Favorite Super Bowl Team?
As the biggest day in NFL football nears, we thought we would see how the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos measure up off the field. How involved are these two teams in volunteering and charitable giving? Let’s find out.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have a wonderful Tickets for Kids and Troops program that provides complimentary game tickets for underserved youth and/or military veterans. Tickets must be requested through a qualified nonprofit organization. The Panthers organization makes it easy for ticket holders to donate their tickets too!
They also participate in several grant programs in conjunction with Academy Sports and Outdoors, USA Football Equipment, NFL Hometown Huddle, NFL Grassroots Field Grant Program and the NFL Foundation. These grants do everything from providing college scholarships to student athletes, to donating equipment to underserved high school football teams, to providing high schools in low to moderate income areas with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of football fields.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos have an extensive list of nonprofits the regularly support and volunteer for on their website. These organizations include Habitat for Humanity, Rocky Mountain Hospital, Susan G. Komen, Denver Broncos Blood Drive, Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver, Food Bank of the Rockies, USA Football, Denver Rescue Mission, Rose Andom Center for domestic violence victims, Alzheimer’s Association and Project Pave.
The Broncos allow others to help out their supported charities through purchasing a Broncos license plate on their website. They take donation and appearance requests on their website as well.
Looks like it is a tie to us! Thank you to both the 2016 Super Bowl teams for all that you do for your communities. You’re already both winners in our book.
